Between speaking unfamiliar words and learning a new way to write, it can be difficult learning a new language. But the art of writing in a foreign language? Well, our very own Roadrunners met that challenge and beat the competition. 

Spanish 1002 students led by Dr. Nancy Mason participated in an annual Spanish composition contest sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. Each participant had to write a 200-word essay in Spanish in one hour without the aid of a dictionary or electronic device. Categories included regular students and those with experience in Spanish.
